George’s Pocket Park

With works beginning on improvements to the public realm on George Street and Manchester Street, we will sadly be saying goodbye to our Tuesday and Wednesday lunchtime food trader in George’s Pocket Park.

As part of the project, The Portman Estate is taking the opportunity to enhance the space, which will see the temporary decking removed and the area repaved to make way for new seating and greening.  More detail to follow in the coming months.

However, those of you that are regular visitors to the food stall need not despair! The trader will continue to deliver their delicious dishes at our twice monthly food markets at 55 Baker Street, taking place on the first and third Thursdays of the month – find out more here.

George’s Pocket Park was created back in 2018, with Baker Street Quarter Partnership working alongside Derwent London and The Portman Estate to transform an unused, unloved space into a small oasis of calm, with the aim of providing much needed seating for visitors and local workers on their lunchbreaks while also improving air quality and biodiversity.
