Summer in the Square: Make Your Own Beeswax Wraps

July 6, 2022 @ 12:30 - 14:30

Join Sunny Jar Eco Hub to learn about low waste living and how to make your own beeswax wraps, a plastic-free alternative to cling film. Learn to make your own wraps with beeswax, as a simple and easy alternative. Beeswax wraps are a natural eco-friendly alternative to cling film and tin foil for wrapping food or covering bowls and jars. They help keep food fresh, are naturally anti-bacterial, and can be reused, refreshed and compostable.

Their experienced facilitator will guide you step-by-step through choosing your fabric, application of the wax, setting, and maintenance. You’ll get to take home a set of three beeswax wraps suitable for a sandwich wrap, snack bag or bowl cover. All materials are provided. Fabric will be available, however, you are welcome to bring your own fabric that can be upcycled (lightweight 100% cotton recommended).
