Work Experience Opportunities

Could you offer a short-term work experience opportunity to someone that’s looking to get back on their feet? We are often asked by local charities if businesses might be willing to host a person looking to gain experience in a particular field of work or to get an opportunity to apply skills that they have acquired in a real workplace environment and help build confidence.

A recent example is Seymour Street-based firm UST Global who offered two women from The Marylebone Project work experience in administrative and reception roles, giving them a taste of working in a busy office and teaching them skills that can be taken forward as they look to progress their careers. Last year, Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill provided placements for two women via their employability programme and both have since become permanent members of their culinary department. The Marylebone Project works with homeless and vulnerable women to work towards a positive future of independence, and work experience can play a core part in this process.

If you would like more information or to register your interest in providing future work experience opportunities, please get in touch with our Community Impact Manager, Hannah. Hannah oversees our Smarter Giving initiative that facilitates relationships between businesses and local charities, schools and community groups. More information about these activities is available here.
