Our Christmas Lights Are On!

Last week saw the illumination of our Christmas lighting displays, brightening up the area for the festive season.

The displays include an illuminated festive door on George Street – great for selfies! And, further along George Street, festoon lighting blankets the sky at George’s Pocket Park, our quiet courtyard oasis. The illuminated geese displays have returned to the Baker Street and Marylebone Road junction, inspired by Arthur Conan Doyle’s only Sherlock Holmes Christmas story, ‘The Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle’.

Portman Square has seen the return of the glittering giant bauble while the trees in Portman Square and Manchester Square gardens are enhanced with sparkling fairy lights highlighting their magnificence.

The lamppost columns along Baker Street, Harewood Avenue and Melcombe Street are decorated with designs inspired by local architecture, while the installation of twinkling lights has been added once again to the canopy adjoining Marylebone Station and The Landmark London.

As in previous years, the festive lights are environmentally friendly, designed with energy efficient LEDs.

If the lights are getting you in the festive spirit, check out the Christmas in Marylebone feature on our Make It Marylebone site for more details of forthcoming festive craft workshops and local events as well as Christmas menus at local eateries and gift shopping guides.
