Major Works on Marylebone Road

Between 25 November and 15 December, one lane on Marylebone Road near Baker Street Station will be closed in each direction by Thames Water for utility works. Taxi bays will be suspended and existing crossings out of use. We suggest you inform your staff and suppliers of the impact. 

The pedestrian crossing on the junction’s eastern arm will be closed however all other crossings will remain open as will the Wonderpass. 

Thames Water will also set out temporary safety barriers on Marylebone Road between Gloucester Place and Baker Street, to manage traffic approaching its working area and removing one lane of traffic. Vehicles turning right from Marylebone Road and into Baker Street will continue to be able to do so. 

From 6 January 2025, Baker Street northbound will be closed from Marylebone Road towards Park Road. Diversions will be in place for traffic to use Gloucester Place. Buses will also be on diversion. The end date for these works is not yet confirmed.
