Local Hotel Fundraises For Cosmic

Prior to Christmas, the team at Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill organised and took part in activities to raise much-needed funds for Cosmic, the charity that supports the children’s and neonatal intensive care units at St Mary’s & Queen Charlotte’s Hospital.

At the end of November, families under the care of the children’s ward at St Mary’s hospital were invited to attend an extra-special storytelling event hosted by the hotel in Portman Square, where children enjoyed listening to stories, alongside food and drink and a charity raffle.

Then in the lead up to Christmas, the team paid a visit to the ward to add some decorations and sparkle to make it festive and fun for the children and their families.

Funds raised by the campaign totalled over £4,000 and will go towards providing copies of the book ‘Guess How Much I Love You’ to be given to parents arriving at the hospital ward.

Cosmic supports patients and their families and enables a dedicated team of nurses and doctors to treat hundreds of babies and children in intensive care. Its work goes beyond what the NHS can afford, purchasing vital state of the art equipment, providing training for health professionals, funding a programme of groundbreaking research into life-threatening diseases and supporting families through one of the most difficult times in their life with one-to-one support, advice, counselling, accommodation for parents. The campaign was facilitated as part of our Smarter Giving programme that introduces and encourages partnerships between local businesses and charities, schools and community groups. Find out more about how you can get involved here.
