Forsters Forging Links with Charities and the Community!

Since moving to Baker Street in January, law firm Forsters has been quick to get involved in local community and charity projects as part of our Smarter Giving programme! Here is a round-up of everything that they’ve been up to.

Having built a partnership with local women’s homeless charity The Marylebone Project, the team has taken part in a range of volunteering and fundraising activities. In March, they hosted an International Women’s Day employment basics session with women at the Project, and in May they undertook a gardening and mindfulness session during Mental Health Awareness week. A team of volunteers helped to paint some of the rooms at the Centre, and they also hosted a collection drive at their offices to collect essential items for ‘Move in Packs’ for the women and donated suncream and water bottles during the hot weather in June. Raising valuable funds to support the charity’s continued work, members of the Forsters’ team also participated in the Homeless Collective London Night Walk, they are in the midst of training for this year’s Royal Parks Half Marathon in October, and will be taking part in the CEO Sleep Out later in the year.

In addition to their partnership with The Marylebone Project, a team of Forsters’ volunteers run the soup kitchen for those in need at a local church. They also offered pro-bono legal advice to a local charity.

Forsters has also been supporting local schools. Volunteers took part in a six-week reading scheme with students at a local primary school, listening to Year 4 and 5 pupils reading and helping to develop their confidence and social skills. The team also hosted an industry insight session for a group of Year 10 pupils from King Solomon Academy during a Careers Week, while one of their trainee solicitors supported a local school student with one-to-one mentoring sessions.

We would like to say a big thank you and well done to the team at Forsters for the incredible impact that they have made over the last six months! Forsters made the move from Mayfair to Baker Street earlier this year, bringing with it over 500 employees to become Marylebone’s largest law firm.
