Crime Prevention Update

In the lead up to Christmas, we will be funding extra security patrols across the area to keep people safe as it becomes busier with shoppers, workers and visitors for the festive period. The patrols, which aim to act as a deterrent to crime and anti-social behaviour, will be taking place in addition to our existing Street Team provision.  

Alongside this, a free crime prevention toolkit for retailers has recently been published, providing useful information and guidance to support businesses in keeping safe from crime and helping to prevent crime impacting staff. The toolkit covers: 

• Physical security 

• Cyber security 

• Safety & Security 

• Prevention 

• Reporting 

• Offender management 

• Training 

• Employee support 

• Corporate support 

The crime prevention toolkit was created at the request of the Home Office, through a collaboration between the National Business Crime Centre (NBCC) and Police Crime Prevention Initiatives (Police CPI).
