Chiltern Railways Public Briefing

Chiltern Railways is hosting a public briefing on 9 November at 18.00 and is extending the invitation to local businesses. The event, also being attended by local MP Nickie Aiken, Westminster Council representatives and residents, will feature presentations on Chiltern Railways’ projects to decarbonise and modernise their operations, as well as a briefing on plans to regenerate Marylebone station and the surrounding local areas, working closely with us at BakerStreetQ and Westminster Council.

Chiltern Railways has recently taken steps to improve air quality including using recycled vegetable oil to fuel their locomotive trains, reducing carbon emissions by up to 90%. Their 2030 Vision was launched in July 2023 featuring ambitious plans to introduce a fully decarbonised set of trains onto their network and they have recently been given permission by the Department for Transport to look at technical solutions for a fleet of decarbonised trains to run on their short distance commuter routes from London Marylebone to Aylesbury and High Wycombe.

Event location: Lecture Theatre 17, Sammy Ofer Building, London Business School @ The Old Marylebone Town Hall, 117 Marylebone Rd, London W1H 1FP
