Charity of the Year Announced
3 April 2025

We are excited to announce that this year’s Charity of the Year 2025-26 will be Central London Samaritans – the founding branch of the wider Samaritans organisation, whose volunteers provide confidential, nonjudgmental, emotional support to anyone who is struggling to cope.
Its new hub opened last year in Salisbury Place, just off Marylebone Road and Gloucester Place, through which the charity offers a 24-hour helpline, email and face-to-face support, with Listening Volunteers that are available year-round to provide emotional assitance to anyone who needs it.
As a branch of the wider umbrella Samaritans charity, Central London Samaritans is responsible for generating its own funding and resources – vital to ensure that people can continue to access their invaluable support. With the number of deaths by suicide in London increasing by 10 per cent in a decade, their services are needed more than ever.
In addition to the Listening Service, they also offer Wellbeing Workshops in the workplace to raise awareness through skill building to help and encourage employees to talk about how they are feeling and empower them to support others.
This is alongside their other work supporting communities through Community Outreach, Veteran Support, Prison Outreach and Homeless Outreach.
If you would like to know more about getting involved in supporting Central London Samaritans, get in touch with Hannah. As our Charity of the Year, we will be working closely with them on a number of fundraising and awareness campaigns over the coming months, and we will also be supporting them later in the year through our Christmas Charity Raffle.
