Become A Safe Haven

As part of its plans to make the City of Westminster a safe and secure environment for women working, living and visiting the night-time economy, Westminster City Council is inviting  businesses to apply to become a Safe Haven – a place of temporary refuge to help facilitate their onward journey, be it calling a taxi, contacting family/friends, waiting for transport, making a phone call to the emergency services, offering helpline numbers to the affected person or allowing the individual to charge their phone.

Venues that are open later into the evening – bars, pubs, restaurants, shops and stations – are perfectly placed to become a Safe Haven. In order to apply, businesses will need to comply with a set of criteria which includes holding Westminster City Council Night Safety accreditation as well as a minimum of two members of staff available during operating hours.
