Walking To Orlando To Help Local Charity 

Our business members Signature Aviation are going the extra mile for local charity North Paddington Food Bank by challenging its team to walk from ‘London to Orlando’. Staff from the company’s offices in Wigmore Street will walk, run or cycle the equivalent distance between the two cities to raise money for the food bank.  

Employees can cover any distance by any non-vehicular method. Their combined efforts will be totted up to smash the ambitious target of more than 4,000 miles. Signature Aviation, a global fixed base operation network for business and general aviation, are aiming to raise at least £4,366 – £1 for each mile to the Florida city. Orlando was chosen as the destination as Signature Aviation has an office there. So far they have raised  £1,519.65 and will continue the challenge into the autumn.  

Many employees are working from home but this won’t stop them from doing their bit. Some are planning to clock up the miles while socially-distancing through dog-walking, sea swimming, spinning classes, rounds of tennis and golf, and bike rides. This initiative is a perfect example of how you can help the Quarter’s charities whilst working from home. Our charities need help now as many of their reserves and grants for this year and subsequent years have been spent to enable them to support those in need during coronavirus.
