Looking after the quarter

Area Management

Our area management activities ensure the Quarter is safe, clean and well-looked after.

Led by our Operations and Street Team, this includes day-to-day crime and antisocial behaviour prevention, monitoring and reporting on the street environment and funding a homeless outreach service.

  • Street Management

Our Street Team operates daily to ensure safety, deter anti-social behaviour, gather evidence for Police, and monitor and report on the street environment (potholes, lighting, litter, fly-tipping).

The Team works closely with Westminster City Council, our Smarter Recycling partners, and cleansing services, and participates in regular walkabouts with the local Safer Neighbourhoods officers and British Transport Police.

Member Resources: Street Team Information Card:

Designed for businesses in the area, with details of the support they offer on protecting premises from crime and antisocial behaviour, sharing intelligence and reporting on-street issues. Ideal for security and facilities teams and front-of-house personnel. Email us here for a copy.

  • Communications Network

While crime levels remain low in this area compared to other parts of central London, we work to keep it that way by supporting and informing the Police and Council and to make the area more resilient to crime.

Our network connects the Street Team with local security teams and businesses to share real-time alerts and gather intelligence on local crime trends and offenders. Evidence is collated and fed back to support Police and Council enforcement.

More information is available on our Security & Resilience page.

  • Providing Information

Our weekly email security briefings cover events, street works, and operational updates, suitable for operations and facilities managers. Email us to subscribe.

View the list of planned street works sent to us by the council here.  Note there may be additional emergency works for which we may not get advance notice.

We developed a poster to help raise awareness of the risks of phone theft and how to stay safe. Download and share with your colleagues here.

  • Additional Cleaning

We fund street and pavement cleansing targeting problem areas, above and beyond local Council provision.

If you notice an area that you think could do with a bit of a scrub, let us know here.

    Homeless Outreach

Our funded outreach service provided by The Passage. They work closely with the Street Team to target support to those sleeping rough and ensure that they are able to access the help and resources that they need.

Our short film below aims to answer some of your most frequently asked questions about the challenges surrounding rough sleeping and what our Street Team and The Passage are doing to help.
