Signing Workshop

To coincide with International Week of the Deaf Deaf Unity have put together a Deaf Awareness and basic British Sign Language workshop. This would include:

• An introductory game for everyone to get involved in and break the ice. The game is drawn from Deaf Culture and is a visual- and action-based game.
• A short interactive session on deaf awareness including what deafness is, the different types of deafness and how to communicate effectively with a deaf person.
• A beginners British Sign Language taster session encompassing the fingerspelling alphabet, numbers and basic conversation skills such as, exchanging names and asking how you are.
