Simpler Recycling
From 31 March 2025, the government’s new Simpler Recycling legislation comes into force, changing the way that businesses, large and small, collect and recycle their waste.
As part of the legislation, businesses are required to collect four waste streams separately:
- Food waste
- Dry mixed recycling (metals, plastics, glass)
- Separate paper and card (if you produce lots)
- General waste
The initiative aims to introduce a new, common-sense approach to recycling across the country to reduce landfill waste and tackle illegal waste activities, creating a more sustainable and environmentally conscious society through improved recycling efforts.
