Crime Reduction
30 March 2026
As part of Business Crime Reduction Partnership (BCRP) Awareness Week, last week our Street Team along with officers from the local Metropolitan Police Safer Neighbourhood Team and Safer Business Network carried out a joint patrol of the area, discussing recent issues and engaging with businesses, highlighting in particular the need for continued reporting of incidents.
While Marylebone continues to be a low-crime neighbourhood, reporting incidents that do occur is especially important. We know that many businesses and individuals feel discouraged about reporting incidents such as shoplifting or phone and bike theft, particularly if it seems unlikely that immediate action will follow.
However, reporting these incidents plays an important role for the wider community. The more incidents that are reported strengthens the case for increased police resources and patrols in our area. Accurate crime data helps the Police understand what is really happening on our streets and ensures that limited resources are directed to the areas where they are most needed.
Reporting a crime is easy to do online. Visit the Met Police website here to find out more
And don’t forget our Street Team is on hand seven-days-a-week to provide support and offer advice in the local area. Contact them here – streetteam@bakerstreetq.co.uk
Business Crime Reduction Partnerships play a central role in crime prevention, community safety, and partnership collaboration – bringing together businesses, local agencies, and law enforcement to create safer environments for living, working, and socialising.
