Shorts Courses At University of Westminster

University of Westminster has a range of business and management short courses available, taking place throughout the year, including Prince2 and Agile Project Management, Risk Management and Operational Coaching. Courses are delivered by leading academics and industry professionals, taking place at the University’s central London campuses or online and leading to professional development qualifications and certificates.

Following a recent five year research project – Skilled Managers – carried out by the University into the link between managerial quality and low productivity, a new Conflict Management course was added to the short course programme, developed alongside Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service (ACAS). Conflict at work costs UK business £29 billion per year, £1,000 for every worker, and the team at the University’s Centre for Employment Research identified that a large portion of this could be wiped out if managers had the skill and confidence to broker proactive resolutions. The Skilled Managers team is now looking to use results from this course to inform the development of additional short courses to help employers cope with a rapidly changing legislative and economic landscape.
