Supporting Our Community

Over the past months, local businesses and partners have come together to support charities, schools, and community organisations across Marylebone.

Generous Donations

Around 90 items have been donated, ranging from laptops to Easter eggs. Colliers provided 70 Easter Eggs to Newpin Family Centre and St John’s Hospice, bringing smiles to children and families. The University of Westminster supported Central London Samaritans by donating one of their meeting spaces, while First Mile donated six laptops and chargers to the same charity, helping to strengthen their operations.

Marcol made a significant contribution by donating a wide range of office furniture to St Mary’s Bryanston Square Primary School, Shadow to Shine, St John’s Hospice, St Marylebone CE School, and Newpin.

And a big thank you to those that took part in our recent food collection drive. Marcol, Colliers, Graham Capital and the businesses at 55 Baker Street and 95 Wigmore gathered donations for St Mary’s Social Supermarket and FoodCycle Marylebone, supporting local families facing food insecurity.

Financial Contributions for Local Programmes

Over £4,000 has been donated to support educational and extracurricular initiatives. Derwent London sponsored a sports club for a year at St Marylebone CE School with a donation of £2,400, while UST contributed £1,850 to support the school’s robotics club competition, enabling students to participate and develop valuable STEM skills.

Community Volunteering in Action

Our business community has collectively given over 200 hours of volunteering time, demonstrating a strong commitment to local causes.

Volunteers from London Business School supported St Mary’s Social Supermarket, while Forsters painted the large sports hall at Marylebone Boys School during May half-term, enhancing the space for students’ activities.

Knight Frank Promise carried out a street collection for Central London Samaritans, raising over £180, and HSBC delivered a fraud prevention workshop at Mosaic Community Trust and a career insight session for students at King Solomon Academy. Duke Street Properties also hosted a career insight session for King Solomon Academy students, introducing them to the industry and helping to broaden their career aspirations.

Colliers supported North Paddington Youth Club by painting the boxing gym and large hall, while teams from British Land, Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill, and Nobu carried out litter picks across Church Street, helping to keep the area clean for everyone.

A staff member from the University of Westminster hosted a ‘Marketing Your Business’ workshop for small start-ups at the Church Street Social Enterprise Unit, sharing valuable expertise to help local entrepreneurs grow.

Additionally, a Church Street Walk-Around led by Hannah enabled local employees to visit and connect with local charities and community groups, deepening understanding and relationships within the area.

Save the Date: ‘Meet the Charity’ Event

We are excited to announce our next ‘Meet the Charity’ event will be taking place on Tuesday, 23 September, from 12:30–2:30 pm at the Baker Street Hub. This will be a valuable opportunity for local employees and businesses to meet with local charities, understand their work, and explore further opportunities to support the community. Watch this space for more details.
