Summer Of Music And Culture Ahead

There is a spectacular line up of music coming up this summer in Marylebone with fantastic local festivals – Regent’s Park Music Festival, St Marylebone Church Festival, Marylebone Music Festival and Marylebone Summer Festival – featuring a variety of events and programmes, beautiful settings and an array of performances – something for everyone!
Marylebone Summer Festival
This year’s festival features an open-air cinema in Paddington Gardens on Saturday 10 June, showing Disney’s Encanto and blockbuster hit Elvis. On Sunday 11th, Marylebone Village will be pedestrianised to host over 80 on-street stalls with fashion and food, funfair rides and much more. There will also be a programme of fun family activities, including a photo booth, DJ, tennis screenings, yoga classes, roaming entertainment, and live music. Regent’s Park Music Festival
Soak up the sun and the atmosphere at the 6th annual Bandstand Festival taking place in this beautiful setting every Sunday afternoon and Bank Holiday Monday from 18 June to 17 September, 12.00-17.00, with performances from local concert bands, jazz big bands, small groups, and choirs. In addition to this, every Saturday from 17 June to 16 September, 14.00-16.00, there will be ‘Jazz on the Broadwalk’, close to the Broadwalk Café.
These free concerts draw audiences of up to 1000 people for each performance and is organised entirely by volunteers. The organisers welcome sponsorship from local businesses or teams that would like to volunteer to help steward the events. Email Nancy for more information on how your business can get involved.
As an individual, you can support the festival and other activities taking place in the park by becoming a member of the Friends of Regent’s Park & Primrose Hill, with benefits including 25% off food and drink at the Park’s cafes as well as boat hire at The Boathouse, and much more, all for £20 per year. St Marylebone Festival
Head over to St Marylebone Parish Church for an exciting festival celebration of art, music, knowledge and the rich cultural heritage of Marylebone! From music concerts and opera, to free evening lectures and film screenings, the festival has something for everyone.
The full programme is available here and forthcoming events include ‘Debussy and Wagner: Music of Transcendence’ on 24 June, 18:00-20:00, and an operatic production of ‘Mansfield Park’ on 8 July, 17.00-19.15.
Marylebone Music Festival
This year’s Festival takes place from 22-25 June with Manchester Square Gardens transformed into a covered concert venue. The eclectic programme will include a live symphony orchestra performance of film scores; the Orion Orchestra performing Beethoven’s 3rd Symphony; young artists from The Royal Academy of Music; and comedian and broadcaster Sue Perkins will conduct the popular children’s concert. In addition to this, the Festival’s ‘A Night at the Opera’ is back by popular demand on Saturday 24 June with soloists from the Royal Opera House, followed by the Marylebone Music Festival Banquet hosted by the Wallace Collection Restaurant.

BST Hyde Park
In addition to the big concerts, this event also features eight days of activities including orchestras, outdoor cinema, yoga in the park, children’s workshops and theatre, arts and crafts, Street Food Market, pop-up bars, and live music. Find out more here.
Save the Date – Summer in the Square
Also coming up soon is our very own Summer in the Square – this year taking place 11-16 July in Portman Square Garden – with the usual Wimbledon screening, food stalls and bar alongside our wellness den, with plenty going on to give your mental health a boost. This year, we will also welcome a Guest Kitchen, with eateries from across Marylebone taking a turn at showcasing their delicious dishes to visitors. Watch this space for more information coming soon!
