Street Cleaning
21 August 2023
As part of our commitment to maintaining the cleanliness of the area, last week saw the first of our ‘grot spot’ cleans, jet washing grime from the pavement in Melcombe Street and giving this popular walkway between Marylebone and Baker Street stations a much-needed tidy up.
Our cleaning resource was introduced in April, as an enhanced service set out in our business plan for our third five-year BID term, following our successful renewal ballot in November. The service is provided in addition to baseline cleaning services provided by the Council and aims to target those areas that need just that extra bit of TLC!
If you’ve noticed a street or area that could do with a scrub, let us know by getting in touch here. In addition to these cleans, our Street Team monitor the street environment, reporting and following-up on matters such as potholes, broken street lighting, litter and fly tipping, working with the Council as well as our Smarter Recycling waste collection service. The reporting system used by the team links to our baseline agreement with Westminster City Council and maps the area’s hotspots to ensure we target our actions effectively. More information about our Clean, Safe and Resilient workstream is available here.
