Reporting Crimes

We know that many businesses and individuals feel discouraged about reporting incidents such as shoplifting or phone and bike theft, particularly if it seems unlikely that immediate action will follow.

However, reporting these incidents still plays an important role for the wider community. The more incidents that are reported strengthens the case for increased police resources and patrols in our area. Accurate crime data helps the Police understand what is really happening on our streets and ensures that limited resources are directed to the areas where they are most needed. When incidents go unreported, the scale of the problem can be underestimated, which may affect future policing priorities.

Baker Street and Marylebone remain low-crime areas but there has been a well-documented increase in crime, particularly thefts of phones and personal items across the capital as a whole. By continuing to report incidents, you are helping to build a clearer picture of local issues and supporting longer-term efforts to keep the area safe.
