Marylebone On Display

Head down to Marylebone station this month to see a fabulous art initiative on display on the station concourse. The first in a series of three exhibitions at Marylebone Station, celebrates Marylebone’s remarkable charities and businesses. The current exhibition displays inspiring artwork created by the women of The Marylebone Project during a twelve-week art therapy programme.

The Marylebone Project is the UK’s largest and oldest women’s homelessness centre, supporting vulnerable women for over 90 years. They house 112 women alongside operating The Sanctuary – London’s only drop-in centre open 24/7 for homeless women, offering safety, support, and advice 365 days a year. The art therapy programme sought to empower the participants from the Marylebone Project to express emotions, build confidence, and improve mental wellbeing through art. Many participants were new to painting and have found a fresh way to communicate and share their experiences.

The Marylebone on Display exhibitions have been curated by Baker Street Quarter Partnership with funding from Chiltern Railways’ Community Investment Fund.
