Charity Clothes Drive
21 August 2023
We are on the lookout for businesses to participate in our forthcoming charity clothes drive, taking place 18 – 22 September. A number of our local charities and community groups, particularly those working with homeless and vulnerable individuals as well as low-income families, are in desperate need for clothing and items that they can distribute to their service users.
How it works
We provide you with all the marketing materials along with signage and a collection point bin. We’ll also share with you the details of the charities and some guidance on the types of items that are needed. We then ask that you manage the physical collection – placing the collection bins in a convenient location for your colleagues – for example your main reception/communal area – and communicating this to them.
At the end of the collection drive week…
It would be your responsibility to then store and sort the items – an excellent team volunteering activity! – before arranging for the collections to be delivered to your allocated charity at the end of the drive.
How to get involved
If you would like your business to take part, please get in touch with our Community Impact Manager, Hannah, who will send you more information and arrange for the delivery of the collection drive materials.
The clothes drive is part of our ongoing Smarter Giving initiative that supports our members’ CSR and ESG commitments by facilitating relationships between them and local charities, schools and community groups. You can read more about other activities along with information about some of the local causes we support here. Don’t worry if this isn’t the right time for you to support this drive as we also have our annual food and toys drives taking place in the lead up to Christmas – watch this space for more information!
