University of Westminster Students Give Marketing Expertise To The Marylebone Project
18 July 2022
Ten students from the University of Westminster recently gave expert marketing and social media advice to Ruhamah Sonson, Centre Manager at The Marylebone Project. This local charity organisation helps women who are homeless by giving support and practical advice, and provides services including the Made in Marylebone project, offering catering and event space in the area.
The University runs the new Westminster Community Consultancy Programme, launched to help support local organisations and students’ skills and employability. For this project, students worked over a two-week intensive programme to develop recommendations to increase awareness of meeting room hire at Space in Marylebone and catering service Munch in Marylebone. The teams were asked to suggest ways to increase brand awareness, generate social media presence and explore tools for assessing website traffic.
Positive feedback was received by both clients and students: –
‘We were very impressed by the professionalism displayed throughout the project and found your presentations wonderful. We are very excited to use your ideas for Instagram very soon.’ – The Marylebone Project
‘This internship has helped me improve my teamwork, communication and research skills. These are transferable skills that will definitely enhance my CV.’ – WCCP participant
The University is now looking for projects for the coming academic year running October-November 2022 and February-March 2023. If you have a project that you think might be of interest, contact kateh@bakerstreetq.co.uk
