Marylebone Food Festival Launched
27 February 2019
Now in its second year, the Marylebone Food Festival is a collaboration between The Portman Estate and The Howard de Walden Estate.
Over the course of this year’s festival, which runs from 24 -28 April, Marylebone’s food and drink establishments—ranging from neighbourhood cafes and wine bars to Michelin-starred restaurants—will put on special menus and host exclusive masterclasses, one-off collaborations, food tours and talks, throwing the spotlight on the gastronomic wealth and diversity of the area. We’re very excited, too, to be supporting the festival with ‘foodie’ related events including a whistle-stop food tour of local restaurants and food outlets where you get to sample mouth-watering local creations.
Last year, the festival raised over £2,000 for its 2018 charity partner, FoodCycle Marylebone. This year, all profits will be donated to Springboard, a charity which helps to reduce unemployment and poverty across the UK, enabling those who experience barriers to employment, achieve their career potential in the hospitality industry.
Restaurants participating in this year’s festival include, Michelin star restaurants Texture and Trishna, celebrated The Providores chef, Peter Gordon, newcomer Xier as well as local hotspots Chiltern Firehouse and Roux at the Landau, famous cheese shop and cafe, La Fromagerie, GAIL’S Bakery, Rococo Chocolates and Marylebone Gin.
The 2019 festival kicks off in superb style with a celebration of the abundance and variety of food and drink in Marylebone – The Marylebone Menu. Tickets for this hugely popular event, a ‘dinner party with a difference’, which takes place on Wednesday 24 April in Marylebone’s striking St Mary’s Church on York Street, have already sold out, but there are many more exciting ‘foodie’ events coming up for you to get involved in…
