Our Street Team And Rough Sleepers…

Our Street Safety Manager, Svenn, is a familiar sight around the Quarter. A key part of his role is to identify vulnerable people who may need help from local support services, outreach services and charities, to break the cycle of homelessness. In Westminster, our local outreach provider, St Mungo’s, has been at the fore of efforts to tackle homelessness for the past 50 years. Their team goes out to every night to help people sleeping rough move away from the streets, and provides beds and support. Already this year St Mungo’s has received 38 referrals from StreetLink – an app that enables members of the public to connect people sleeping rough with the local services.

Their work doesn’t stop there, however, they support people at every step of their recovery from homelessness. Identifying rough sleeping can be complex, even for those who deal with it daily.

If you see someone you believe needs help in our Quarter, then members can contact Svenn directly during office hours, but if that’s not possible or, if you prefer, download and use the StreetLink app.

Individuals and businesses find out more about supporting St Mungo’s on its website.
