Smarter Giving & Double Tree Successful Workplace Scheme

Smarter Giving, with the 4 star Double Tree by Hilton Marble Arch, recently completed its very first work placement programme and to great success.
For two weeks, the hotel welcomed four local candidates, who were long term unemployed, homeless or had a history of mental illness, and put them to work shadowing a Hilton employee, on rotation through concierge, front of house, housekeeping and the restaurant.
Candidate, Nisrin Daoud said she “absolutely loved it and learned so many things“, refreshing her customer service skills and learning about reservations, particularly online bookings. Each candidate has received a certificate of completion of work experience and has been given access to Hilton’s jobs database.
Sardia Kabore, Front Of House Manager, commented “Baker Street Quarter’s Smarter Giving service has helped us achieve our aims and helped others at the same time.” We’re also working with the Radisson Blu Portman Hotel on a similar work placement scheme, with a view to filling permanent roles.
