Positive Impact Of Shopping Local
27 November 2020
New research carried out by Visa highlights the positive impact that shopping locally at independent businesses has on the local economy.
Key findings from its upcoming report, created in partnership with Cebr (Centre for Economic & Business Research) and launched alongside their Where You Shop Matters Christmas campaign, show that for every £10 we spend at a local business, more than a third (£3.80) stays within the area. According to the report, over half of the British population are planning to do some of their Christmas shopping locally this year, be it in store or online, with four out of five pledging to shop local as much or more than pre-coronavirus.
Baker Street Quarter is lucky to play host to a fabulous selection of local independent businesses where you’ll find unique gifts to suit all your friends and family. To find out more, visit our Shop the Quarter directory here.
