New Openings In The Quarter
20 January 2022
The Portman Estate has announced several new openings in the area over the last couple of months, adding to the eclectic mix of independent shops and restaurants:
MONC eyewear, Chiltern Street: where every frame is sourced and made in Italy by experienced craftspeople. Taking sustainability seriously, MONC aim to work towards a closed loop system with as much waste as possible reused and recycled.
Niwaki, Chiltern Street: brings the very best in Japanese craftsmanship, with an extraordinary range of fine garden and woodworking tools, kitchen knives and outdoor gear.
New & Lingwood, Chiltern Street: offer a carefully curated collection of styles, centred on loungewear pieces and relaxed tailoring, whilst also exhibiting new concepts and product capsules.
Perfumer H, Chiltern Street: founded by Lyn Harris with one style, one vision – to pioneer naturals back into perfumery, creating beautiful fragrances that resonate life and are refined and integral to her own personal style.
Chourangi, Old Quebec Street: brings the 300-year-old art of Calcutta cuisine and celebrates the harmonious blend of European, Mogul and Chinese cultures and food. Guests can expect contemporary takes on dishes eaten in Calcutta, drawing on inspiration from the people, culture and traditions.
Roketsu, New Quebec Street: brings the finest in Kaiseki (Japanese multi-course dinner) tradition to London’s diners. As one of very few Kaiseki masters globally, and a protégée of seven-Michelin-starred chef Yoshihiro Murata, chef and owner Daisuke Hayashi will be the first to bring this form of dining to London in a permanent space.
Baker Street is also expecting further new openings in the forthcoming weeks which we’re looking forward to announcing shortly.
