Expansion of Street Safety Team
23 May 2019
We’re pleased to announce that, as of today, our Street Safety Team has been significantly expanded.
With the Portman Estate help, new funding has enabled us to expand the team to provide an extended on-street presence, which, as of today, will mean a seven-day-a-week presence from 7am until 11pm. As well as maintaining a safe and well-managed environment, the new timetable will enable the team to help deter crime and antisocial behaviour for longer periods of the day, every day. The greater street presence, coupled with our existing, and effective, street management, helps to strengthens the area’s security and resilience.
The Street Safety Team has always worked closely with support and outreach services, signposting vulnerable individuals, as well as working with the police and other authorities for whom they collate and share vital data trends on anti-social behaviour within the area.
The expanded team is uniquely positioned to enhance the security of the area for everyone by acting as a conduit between our members, dedicated security resources across the area, the Police and the Council.
The Street Safety Team will stand out in their new uniforms – do say hello when you see them – their names are (pictured from left to right); Deeq, Terry, Jahid and Svenn. And please remember to use them as a resource. They can be contacted on the duty phone between 7am and 11pm on: 07456 673 895, or drop them an email.
