Elderly’s Day Out In Windsor

After much planning and fundraising by our Smarter Giving Manager, Kate, and the Penfold Community Hub, 30 local residents were escorted to Windsor for a fabulous day out sightseeing. After which, the party was treated to a boat trip on the Thames and a delicious afternoon tea.

Some of the group were specifically invited because of their social isolation, but many were mobility impaired, which meant the trip would simply not have been possible without the hands-on help of our 14 fabulously energetic volunteers.

The trip was generously funded by Aspect Capital Management, The Portman Estate and Knight Frank, as well as several private donations. Our amazing volunteers came from BDO Knight Frank, Hyatt Regency London – The Churhill and Imperial College London.

One of our guests said ‘I’ve never had an afternoon tea before. And this is just marvellous. To be out on the water and treated to such a lovely day is so special’.
