Celebrating 50 Years Of The Marylebone Music Festival

With this year’s Marylebone Music Festival being on hold, founder and Artistic Director, Meghan Cassidy partnered with Air-Edel on Rodmarton Street to celebrate the recording studio’s 50th anniversary with a fabulous live event, which is now available online for you to enjoy.

Maggie Rodford, Managing Director, Air-Edel: “As Air-Edel celebrates its 50th Anniversary we are thrilled to have had the opportunity to record these songs celebrating Marylebone Pleasure Gardens showing that music continues to be at the heart of Marylebone!”

The event, which was broadcast live as part of the Marylebone Summer Festival and arranged and recorded by Nick Taylor in Air-Edel Studio 1, features Clare Presland accompanied by a string quartet: Simon Blendis, Natalie Klouda, Meghan Cassidy and Gemma Rosefield, who perform ‘Songs from the Marylebone Pleasure Gardens’. The stunning songs, which had never previously been recorded, had not been heard since the Marylebone Pleasure Gardens closed in 1777 after being a focal point of entertainment in the Marylebone area for 40 years.
