Can You Help Penfold Dementia Unit Patients?

Despite the temporary closure of its day centre, Penfold Community Hub continues to support the elderly and vulnerable in the Baker Street Quarter in a multitude of ways. With many of their regular visitors shielding, the team at the community hub has been working to maintain a connection to prevent loneliness and isolation. Regular check-ins are made over the phone to ensure those who need help know where to find it, with online activities such as yoga and Zumba classes organised to help look after mental wellbeing.

And this is an area that the charity has specifically asked for your help… Do you or your colleagues have, or plan to have, any virtual classes or workshops that could be used by Penfold Community Hub? Do you, perhaps, have a hobby or skill that you could share remotely? This could be anything from photography to cooking, or maybe sewing or singing, anything that might help the area’s isolated elderly’s keep their spirits up while they stay safe…

If you can help, please contact our Smarter Giving Manager, Kate, who is in contact with the Penfold Community Hub.

There are many ways in which you can help those in need within our community during this difficult time, do take a look at our Local Giving page for more information.
