Are You Making The Most Out Of The Quarter
7 September 2015
If you live or work in Marylebone you no doubt enjoy the many services and attractions our vibrant Quarter has to offer.
At BakerStreetQ, one of our aims is to further improve your experience of the area so over the past year we’ve introduced a variety of leisure clubs, all of which are completely free!
Our Netball Club, which is open to all, has been running since May 2014 and takes place every Tuesday at Portman Square Garden, at the new extended timeslot of 18.15 – 19.30 – allowing 15 minutes of warm-up, then a full hour for games. The club is great for keeping in shape and enjoying team sport outside. Our first tournament was in June, with five competing local teams and we’ve more planned. For men and women of any level, it’s fun, informal and we regularly welcome new faces.
Also open to all is our Singing Group, which started in April and meets every Wednesday, 18.00 – 19.00, at St Marylebone Parish Church. It’s fun, relaxed, for any level (you don’t have to read music) and our enthusiastic group of men and women put on a great performance in July. The group starts again on 16 September and they’ll be preparing for a performance at our Christmas Drinks!
And finally, we launch our Running Club this Wednesday which, due to popularity and very limited space, is a member-only club. The club will meet at 18.30 every Wednesday, outside BakerStreetQ’s office, at 64 Baker Street and will last an hour. It’s appropriate for all levels of running, as long as you’re able to jog for 10 minutes up to Regent’s Park.
Clubs must be pre-booked via Eventbrite and we often have a waiting list so, if you can no longer attend, please cancel by logging on to Eventbrite to release your place for someone else.
With all these free clubs right on your doorstep, there’s every reason to get out there and make the most of our vibrant Quarter!
