An Update From TfL
18 October 2021
Latest travel data from Transport for London has shown a marked increase in travellers to the Quarter since the start of September. It’s great to have more of you back in the area and enjoying all the Quarter has to offer. Number of travellers to Baker Street, Bond Street and Marble Arch tube stations are at just over 60% of pre-Covid levels, with weekday travel demand currently increasing faster than weekend travel.
We know that some of you have concerns about travelling, and last month held a webinar with Transport for London’s Managing Director for Customers, Communication and Technology, Vernon Everitt to talk more about what TfL is doing to keep travellers safe. You can watch the webinar here.
At the session, Vernon explained that TfL has been running a near-full service since July 2020, while cleaning has never been more important for them, with independent testing every month from Imperial College London showing no traces of the virus across tube and buses. Network Rail’s studies have also shown the same result. He also spoke about the requirement to wear face coverings on TfL services. TfL enforcement officers continue to work hard to remind customers of the need to wear face masks and 92% of customers are aware of the rule.

We were also pleased to see the announcement last week that the night tube on the Victoria and Central lines will return from 27 November, offering more transport options late at night and reducing journey times.
