50 Baker Street
16 March 2026
Preparations are now underway for the transformation of 50 Baker Street, with demolition works due to begin shortly. McGee has been appointed by Derwent London to deliver this phase of the project.
The plans for the site, that were approved by Westminster City Council in August 2024, include:
- A new, all‑electric building designed to achieve high standards of sustainability and energy efficiency.
- A dedicated Learning & Wellbeing Space, developed in partnership with the Baker Street Quarter Partnership
- Urban greening across façades, terraces, and roof levels to improve biodiversity.
- Redevelopment of Broadstone Place, delivering a more welcoming and attractive public realm.
- High-quality offices, new retail spaces, and private residential homes.
As construction progresses, the project website, 50BakerStreet.co.uk, will act as the central hub for all updates and information throughout the redevelopment. Visitors can track the latest progress, access and download project documents, contact members of the project team and sign up for regular newsletter updates.
