Deaf Awareness & BSL Training

To coincide with the International Week of the Deaf 2024, we have partnered with Deaf Unity to organise a Deaf Awareness and Basic British Sign Language workshop. This session will include:

The 1-hour session covers:

  • An introduction to the trainer and Deaf Unity.
  • Statistics on deafness and hearing loss worldwide and in the UK.
  • Explanation of different levels of hearing loss and the correct terminology.
  • Discussion of communication barriers and potential solutions.
  • Introduction to BSL (British Sign Language) and fingerspelling.
